MAIN
PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To manage and coordinate the night operation of the Warehouse, Packing
& Process ensuring the effective planning, organisation and control of
resources to support the operation of said departments in line with the planned
schedule.

 

The role is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient and
well-controlled operation, whilst ensuring compliance with quality and food
safety standards, meeting key performance targets and managing costs and
wastage.

 

The Team Leader will lead, motivate and develop the departmental teams
and identify opportunities for continuous improvement to ensure the department
delivers an effective service to internal and external customers.

 

MAIN
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and coordinate the operation of the Packing, Process and
Warehouse during night shift.

·        
Ensure compliance with Cafea UK Health & Safety policies and
procedures and support the maintenance of a safe working environment.

·        
Maintain high standards of GMP, product quality and food safety,
ensuring compliance with company, customer and external audit requirements,
including BRC standards.

·        
Ensure production lines are started up and shut down safely and in
accordance with established procedures.

·        
Manage all documentation, data collection and monitoring systems,
ensuring accurate and timely records and communication with relevant
departments.

·        
Lead, motivate and develop the teams, identifying training needs and
supporting the development of a skilled and engaged workforce.

·        
Monitor performance against production plans and agreed KPIs, taking
action to address any shortfalls and improve efficiency.

·        
Ensure compliance with product specifications and agreed quality
parameters throughout the packing process.

·        
Manage operational costs, yields and wastage, identifying opportunities
to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste.

·        
Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.

·        
Ensure effective communication and collaboration with other shifts to
support the smooth operation of the business.

·        
Ensure facilities, equipment and communication systems are maintained
and used appropriately, including the security of the shipping office and yard.

·        
Provide appropriate operational cover during periods of staff absence
and holidays where required.

·        
Carry out any other duties that are reasonably consistent with the
responsibilities and level of the role.

 

PERSON
SPECIFICATION

 

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of supervising or leading a team.
  • Experience of planning and coordinating operational activities.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a
    manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of quality, GMP and food safety requirements.
  • Computer literate with the ability to use relevant business systems
    and software.

Desirable

  • Experience of BRC and customer audit requirements.
  • Experience of SAP or similar business systems.
  • Experience of stock control systems.
  • Experience of Lean manufacturing techniques.

Additional Information

The role requires regular on-site presence in Dunstable, Bedfordshire.
