We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of
Technical to lead our technical functions and help shape the next chapter of
our business.
This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Managing
Director, with responsibility for food safety, quality, compliance,
sustainability, customer relationships, and technical strategy across the
business.
What you will be doing
- Member of the UK Leadership team,
helping to set company strategy and operational standards
- Represent the UK within the wider
Cafea Group Technical Management Team
- Lead and develop a technical team of
seven specialists.
- Act as the senior technical
contact for customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure the highest standards of
food safety, quality, and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement and
technical excellence across the business.
- Oversee our sustainability and
ethical sourcing commitments.
- Work closely with colleagues in
the UK and Germany across Commercial, Supply Chain and Operations and to
support business growth
What we are looking for
- Significant food technical experience,
preferably within a food manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership experience,
developing team and talent.
- Strong customer-facing and
stakeholder management skills
- A passion for quality, food safety,
and continuous improvement
- Commercial awareness, good
financial acumen, and strategic thinking capability
- The confidence to influence,
challenge and inspire at all levels of the organisation.
- A degree or other higher education
qualification in a relevant scientific discipline would be advantageous

The post holder will be responsible for health and safety in the area under his/her control on a day-to-day basis, and must ensure as far as is reasonably practicable, that he/she is familiar with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and recommendations and these are observed within his/her areas of responsibility. Attention is drawn particularly to the existence of the Company’s policy statement on Health and Safety at Work. Any accident in the post holder’s area must be recorded in the accident book.
